Meet Erin, the Mom behind Boutique Suarez | Sayville Patchogue Moms

Erin Suarez is the creative force (along with her husband) behind the jewlery line Boutique Suarez. It can be found in several boutiques on Long Island (like Sayville’s own Ooh La La Boutiques) as well as at pop-up trunk shows at boutiques and vendor markets- you can even book a trunk show as a private party for you and your friends! Be sure to check out their website or social media to find out where they’ll be next!

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have one son, Lucas and he’s 22 months.

How long have you lived on Long Island?
I grew up in Suffolk County and moved to the city at the age of 18, in 1996 to attend The Fashion Institute of Technology and stayed in the city until 2015.

Where else have you lived?
I’ve always lived in the city or on Long Island and I’m currently in Nassau County

How did Boutique Suarez come about?
My husband and I like to travel and on one of our adventures to Savannah I found a Wire Wrapped ring. I purchased a couple of them because I liked them so much and had never seen a wire wrapped ring… When we got home I wanted to try to make it on my own, so I did and it just took off from there with people wanting me to make rings for them. It was also around the same time we had been trying to get pregnant and were having a hard time and making the jewelry was very relaxing and therapeutic for me that I actually got pregnant within 2 months.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Design, Design, Design…I love designing new pieces and seeing the outcome! My background is an Interior Designer…it’s very different than jewelry design but certain things are similar and it’s just so much fun and satisfying to me.

How has social media fueled your growth?
Social media has given us the ability to engage with people all over the world but mainly all over Long Island and because of social media we are now in a handful of Long Island Boutiques

As a mompreneur, how do you handle the toggle between home and family?
That’s something that I’m still struggling with but with lots of help from my family and having a supportive husband it makes it easier

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I was a competitive Tennis Player and would love to find the time to play again

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My husband Ray whom also helps design and make jewelry is and amazing Father and I honestly wouldn’t be able to do this without him. As I’m writing this he’s in the baby’s room rocking him to sleep…every night he rocks Lucas to sleep, it’s their special bonding time together.
