How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?

I have a daughter named Maya who will be 5 in October and I have a son Trey who is 3 and a half.

How long have you lived in Sayville? What made you decide to live here?

We have been in Sayville since 2013. We moved from Long Beach so we still wanted to be somewhere still close to the water and we just loved the Main Street area as well. Good schools, beautiful town, we were sold as soon as we started looking around here.

What’s your favorite family activity in our area?

We love to walk around Main Street or play at the park down by the Marina.

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop around town?

So many good ones it’s hard to choose, we love La Tavola, American Cheese Shop, we can’t wait for The Shed to open! And for myself, I love shopping at La Sorella. Being close to Target is pretty nice too. (My husband might disagree ha!)

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Wellll, I was voted Best Dressed in High School, so I’m still holding on to that haha! But in all seriousness, my love of clothing goes way back, which is another reason I started my business. I wanted moms to have cute and comfortable pieces that they felt good in.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

My mom and my sister. I couldn’t do it without them. My sister and I had our first babies 3 months apart so we have gone through this experience together, every step of the way. My mom is total #momgoals, she does it all and makes it looks easy.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

I own my own business and I also work part time for my family’s small business. My family owns Amity Harbor Sports in Amityville and I have been the Marketing Manager there since 2010. In 2014 when my nephew was born I used our shop equipment to personalize a onesie for him and three months later when I had my daughter, I just kept going. Jam Threads gets its name from the two babies who inspired it — my nephew Jonathan and my daughter Maya. We specialize in mama items, funny onesies, loungewear and accessories.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

When I started my business I was home with a newborn, I didn’t get out all that much, my hands were full, so my business has been mostly built online. Now that I have become a little more established and my kids are a little older I would love to get more involved locally!
